Who is Paolo Buconi
Paolo Buconi graduated from the Cesena Conservatoire and the Bologna Philharmonic Academy. For more than a decade, he has been a pioneer dedicated to the diffusion of Jewish music. He is founder and leader of the “Vladah Klezmer Band” (originally “Vladah Trio”, Bologna’s first klezmer group) with which he has performed in various international settings and on significant occasions such as Holocaust Memorial Day. He has held concerts both as a soloist and with his group at the Monastery of Camaldoli during the “Jewish-Christian Talks”.
The son of a deportee to a Nazi concentration camp, he collaborates with A.N.E.D. (Associazione Nazionale Ex Deportati) (National Association of Deportees) to keep alive the Memory of the Shoah.
He has performed alongside Jaques Stroumsa, violinist at Auschwitz.
